Africa Asia Youth Foundation (AAYFO) is organizing an International Youth Day Symposium at Galgotias College of Engineering & Technology, Greater Noida, on August 14. The Chief Guest of the event would be Dr. Mahesh Sharma, former Minister of State for Culture (Independent Charge). The event will be attended by several diplomats, industry experts and youth delegates.
AAYFO is a convergence of progressive thinking African and Asian youth agreeing to forge and work towards a common goal by fostering youth cooperation between both the continents in key areas of exchange in Education, Culture, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Research & Development to spur sustainable growth and development in alignment with UN Agenda 2030. The stakeholders of Africa Asia Youth Foundation aims to promote and develop youth based programs and formulate an achievable strategic plan for SDG’s in sync with the United Nations SDG’s Agenda 2030. In this spirit, AAYFO will be organizing the International Youth Day Symposium on August 14 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
The purpose of the event is to develop and strengthen cooperation between potential stakeholders, to promote the establishment and strengthen ties of friendship and solidarity between participants, to discuss items on the agenda and ensure their follow up at the national level. This event will act as another step taken by AAYFO to draw on youth experiences with addressing development-related issues in order to identify means through which youth can play a role in the implementation process of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development as well as ponder upon the Follow up and Review process.
AAYFO as an independent organization feels itself accountable to engage in many different activities to promote and protect the implementation of the SDGs within the context of promoting greater understanding, awareness and respect for these goals. In accordance with the functions and responsibilities, AAYFO can leverage its functions to make distinctive and valuable contributions to the implementation and follow-up and review process of the SDGs, thereby facilitating the creation of enhanced accountability mechanisms. Furthermore, AAYFO can promote remedies for all SDGs violations and can use its powers to address serious concerns linked to the implementation of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
