The Ambassador of India to South Sudan, H.E. Anil Nautiyal, hosted a pre-departure dinner and briefing for ten South Sudanese diplomats who will be attending a special training course at the Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Service (SSIFS) in New Delhi, scheduled from August 4 to 13, 2025.
This marks the first Special Course at SSIFS designed for diplomats from Eritrea, Libya, Somalia, and South Sudan, as part of India’s continued commitment to diplomatic capacity building among partner nations in Africa.
Joined by senior officials from the South Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Ambassador provided an overview of the training program and outlined the expectations and guidelines to be followed during the course.
He also took the opportunity to highlight the Embassy’s broader efforts in capacity building, and spoke about India’s remarkable transformation over the past decade across sectors such as digital governance, education, public service delivery, and sustainable development, particularly through flagship initiatives like Digital India.
The program at SSIFS will include sessions on diplomacy, governance, development partnerships, digital tools in foreign policy, and India’s engagement with the Global South.
The initiative reflects the growing India-South Sudan partnership and reinforces India’s long-standing support for human resource development and institutional strengthening across Africa.
