Commemorating 60 years of diplomatic relations between India and Zambia, a logo was unveiled by Ms. Etambuyu Anamela Gundersen, Permanent Secretary International Relations and Cooperation and His Excellency Ashok Kumar, High Commissioner of the Republic of India accredited to Zambia, during a ceremony organised by the Mission on 11th June, 2024, in Lusaka.
In her remarks, Ms. Gundersen acknowledged the existing close and warm relations between Zambia and India, anchored on shared aspirations of liberty, democracy, and good governance. The Permanent Secretary expressed gratitude to India for its support and technical assistance in various fields. The Permanent Secretary urged Indian investors to consider investing in Zambia in key sectors including agriculture, mining and manufacturing.
The High Commissioner noted the excellent bilateral relations between Zambia and India, which had continued to flourish over the years. The High Commissioner further stated that the Indian community members, the socio-cultural organisations and friends of India, with support from the Government of the Republic of Zambia, will organise several events to mark the occasion of the establishment of 60 years of diplomatic relations between Zambia and India.
