India and Ethiopia share a unique bond of friendship, trust and cultural fusion. The warmth of this deep-rooted relationship was felt mutually during a culturally stimulating conversation with the Ambassador of Ethiopia to India H.E. Mr. Fesseha Shawel Gebre and team African Centre Of India represented by its Directors Rao Narender Yadav and Gaurav Gautam, recently at the Etiopian Embassy in New Delhi.
On the occasion, African Centre of India (ACoI) also presented a wonderful piece of traditional craft -Kataab handmade by women from Anand in Gujarat, to the Hon’ble Ambassador.
India and Ethiopia share deep-rooted cultural ties shaped by centuries of historical connections through trade, education, and people-to-people exchanges. Indian merchants and teachers have influenced Ethiopian society, while both nations celebrate shared values of diversity and heritage. India has contributed significantly to Ethiopia’s education sector, with many Ethiopian students studying in Indian institutions. The presence of a vibrant Indian community in Ethiopia further strengthens cultural exchanges, seen in the popularity of Indian cuisine, films, and yoga. These cultural linkages continue to enhance bilateral relations, fostering mutual understanding and cooperation. The African Centre Of India will continue to strengthen the bilateral relations between India and Ethiopia.
