
During the recently held KhoKho World Cup, the Kenya High Commission officials visited the Kenyan team at the Indira Gandhi Indoor stadium in New Delhi to encourage them and motivate them as they entered into this new sport. The team was in high spirits and happy about their experiences and the wins they had made so far.
Khokho is an indigenous sports in India as well as in many other countries, known by different names. It is now gaining international recognition with standardized rules in the sport. Twenty three ( 23)countries from six continents featured in the Kho Kho world cup India 2025.


Africa was represented by Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, and Uganda. Kenya and South Africa had sent men’s and women’s teams, while Ghana fielded a men’s team and Uganda a women’s team. From Kenya, the team of 38 men and ladies was led by Kenya Khokho Federation president Kantilal Velji Asani.
The games were held at the Indira Gandhi Arena in New Delhi, India from 13 to 19 January 2025. The tournament was organized by the Kho Kho Federation of India and the International Kho Kho Federation. India defeated Nepal in both the men’s and women’s competition to be crowned champions.
